Curious if it would be overly game breaking to allow Divine Value-granted spells to be delayed in a similar manner as Arcane Value spells.
I am also interested in balance related to spell delay of, for example, Arcane Value 2 (Delay CL-5 to get full casting). Would it be at all balanced to allow a delay of CL-3 to get 2/3 casting?
I mean, for example, if I have an Arcane Value that provides 1/2 spellcasting, and I can delay it to Level-5 to get full spellcasting, could I delay it to Level-3 to get 2/3 spellcasting.
I suspect that if I took the time to compare spell progressions, it’s probably not worth it in most scenarios.
It only gets to be worth it at later levels. The class creation guidelines specify arcane casters, not divine, so the balance one way or another is not really addressed. I would be cautious since Alex often has ridiculously well structured reasons for why he makes the choices that he does that have to do with how the entire game fits together, but it could work out. We are talking about a system for homebrew classes anyway.

APM: You can do that, but keep in mind that only Divine 1 offers a fractional level of divine casting.

APM: Here are the correlations between fractional level and delayed availability of spell progressions:
(Fractional Level) (Delayed Availability)
Class level Class level
⅔ class level Class level – 3
½ class level Class level – 5
⅓ class level Class level – 7
So, yes, you can trade Caster Level -3 to allow 2/3 casting, or vice versa.
