I [Hengist] am, which puts my movement at 10 stone unless I drop my pack during combat. I may need to redo exactly what I'm carrying and what Dagmar is if we're hauling loot, but my intention is to stay at or under 10 stone.
From my experience with spell checker before I got it trained, I'm going to assume Gwydion's statement here starts with "Hengist,...". "Hanging,..." can also be parsed, but it affects which end of the elf to tie the rope to for haulage, and I fear Hengist has already begun to acquire a certain reputation despite my best efforts towards peace and reason.
Hey, I would've posted here sooner, but I was busy watching one of my adventuring companions over in Drpete's Dwimmermount game on Unseen Servant HAVE HER LIVING HEART CHEWED OUT! DAAAAAMN YOU, MACRIIIIS!
...oh, yeah...you KNOW what I'm talking about, Alex...
Does anyone know offhand of a place you can upload an image to and allow multiple people to draw on it? I feel kinda lost on the map; and have a need to start marking buildings, but I'd like to make it a social sort of thing.
I think resting before the temple is a good idea. We do have that healing potion if we'd rather not, however.
That being said, we should pick where we go to rest pretty carefully.
The temple is to the south, that's where the toothy maw is drawn on the map, so. I expect for completions' sake we'd have to go door to door in town later, depending.
Given the elves were nocturnal (yes?) I'd really be curious to see what happens in this cottage tonight...
So I don't think I've been missing much, but I'm in the process of getting a new job and the amount of random crap you need to do is astounding. It should be settling down soon, but yeah. Point is I'm still here.
Don't know. He's mentioned work already. We know where Bobloblah lives blogs, so barring major real world problems I assume we'll get him back.
I thought we had a direction, but I realize it took a little bit. As I understand it, we're getting out of town to rest at least, and running is also on the table. Oh, and inadvertently a survivor to take care of.
I'm guilty of lurking waiting for action, but maybe we should have kept OOC more active and firmed up our plans to be ready. Otherwise we may be another week of IC firming up the vote. In that spirit: I see Lamech and Lucas for skipping town and Hardrada, Koewn and myself for getting our asses kicked underneath the temple. Correct? Anyone else?
Thoughts on the elf? If we're really going to take care of him rather than letting Hengist "take care of him" there's apparently a healing potion kicking around. If we want to burn it on that rather than save it.
bob is in a PBP on another board with me, and a few others. A friend of his there has stated that he has been doing a lot of work involving international travel and tight deadlines. I'm going to keep an eye here, but..... we'll see :)
Yeah, sorry folks. I fell off the face of the earth there for a while. It was a confluence of the aforementioned work and international travel, combined with a number of serious personal issues. Some of the workload and personal stuff has been resolved, so I'm back.
I know it's been ages, but if anyone is interested in continuing, I'm game. Just make a quick post here, and if we have enough people back, we'll continue...
Two things:
First, I wonder if we might learn something by trying to remove the gag from its mouth. Risky, I admit, but given that I am not attached to Gwydion in the least, I would be willing to try.
Second, I think this may put to rest any ideas about these Elves being good guys unless they captured this thing from bad guys (I carefully avoid THE bad guys) and were trying to figure out what to do with it.
At a minimum, let's fortify the door and windows as well as clear fields of fire in the main room so archers have some protection in case of a main assault. We should also gather water in any handy barrels and buckets along with some blankets to give us some limited protection against fire. Anyone have some ideas about traps? Lastly, we should be better prepared than the Elves to escape out the back if need be.
So, if you're staying in the home and fortifying it, how exactly will you prepare? There is a rainbarrel outside near a corner of the building with a ladle and a small wooden bucket beside it. The main room has a table, a few chairs and a bench, and a cupboard comtaining simple clay dishes. A hearth stands on one wall. There a single door at the front of the home, along with two windows facing on to the street. There is a wooden ladder, of sorts, that can be used to climb into the loft; it isn't attached to anything. The loft contains several simple bedsteads with straw-filled mattreses and woolen blankets, plus the blanket-box that contained the corpse.
Okay, based on what (and who) you found in the house, can we get a decision on what you're doing next? Hardrada (Gwydion) has suggested staying here and fortifying; there seems to be some agreement with that. If that's what you plan to do, I'd like some specifics. If not, let me know what the group is planning to do so we can move forward.
I'd suggest: haul water barrel and bucket inside where we can make best use of it to put out spot fires. Board up the windows we broke in. Bar/block the lower door. (Hengist has a hammer and iron spikes, but no regular nails.) Post sentries/archers upstairs overnight. Ready ropes so we can flee down over the wall quickly if need be. I'll start with the water barrel in IC.
It's been long enough that I'll remind people of this post here. It lays out what you found on the pair of elves who had occupied the building. Keep in mind that one of them is still alive, but grievously wounded. Also, the Carpenter was killed by the party, and a raven clasp was found on the carpenter's body. Gwydion claims the Carpenter changed into a pale elf after death. Constable Aramis Thorsdun supposedly went to inform his master. The Baron seemingly wasn't in his manor when you went there. You recovered a map of the town with notes from these two elves.
I think that's the really pertinent information...
As far as I know Hengist is walking around with the sword in his belt since here. But that was without any discussion, which we are welcome to have; I may not be the best bearer.
(I also helped myself to the composite bow, which let me equip Dagmar with my old short bow, but that's not magical.)
Oh, one other thing: as you're staying, please give an order of watch and where those watchers are. You still have Andrew, Aria, and Miska available at the moment.
Well that was an eventful Round! Nice rolling.
I'm not sure if we made this clear earlier, but is everyone carrying their packs and "dungeoneering" gear around with them?
I am, as i dont trust others to keep my stuff safe. In case of need i will drop my backpack.
Kerrick normally leaves his backpack with his horse. (If carrying it, his speed is reduced.)
PS - one of my first thoughts upon realizing spellsword was "ooh, elven chain!"
I [Hengist] am, which puts my movement at 10 stone unless I drop my pack during combat. I may need to redo exactly what I'm carrying and what Dagmar is if we're hauling loot, but my intention is to stay at or under 10 stone.
AFAIK I'm carrying whatever's on my sheet.

Sorry, I'm sure Kaul was looking for a bit more information on the box. I'll post a bit more about what he can tell by looking at it in the IC thread.
What is everyone else doing while this happens?

Muhahahahaha?
Sorry for the erratic posting. I'm working a ton of hours involving international travel at the moment.

You could probably do something in dropbox, with the new office integration they've been working in.
I can host it in my space if you want, and share the folder with others so we can mark it up.
Ha.

Have we lost Bobloblah?

Kerrick is also in favor of dying horribly under the temple.
Also, if we want to burn resources saving the elf, I still have lay on hands.
I think a quick rest is in order, and keeping the elf alive is probably best done using the renewable resource of lay on hands, rather than a potion.
ok, lay handos on elf, go outside the town, rest, go under the temple. you have my vote.
Yeah, now I'm getting pessimistic.

Welcome back! I for one, vote to 'get to it'.
Thanks. Woot!
Welcome back!
I, for one, am always in favor of stabbing elves.
What do you mean? Gwydion's just people, right? Elves are made from shadows and stardust and mainly come out at night. /Hengist
We'll see. The campaign is young :^)
Still here! Worse, so is Hengist, ready to kill all the right people for all the wrong reasons!
Excellent! I'll send PMs to the others, just in case they're not subscribed...
Okay, I'm going to start posting again tomorrow. We'll see what happens.
;-)

True, at some point we do need to get around to fighting over the magic sword.
(And I suppose there are other items to examine and split up too.)

i will be in the roof, first watch, someone should take the second watch.
we should put some torches to lit the exterior, shoting someone from the dark its better than shoting to someone in the dark.
Please give me a watch order for the night in the house.
first watch on the roof.
