Human Classes for Demihumans

reading the custom classes rules it seems evident that you can create equivalent human classes for the demihumans just by reducing the maximum level by one AND (sorry I forgot to write it)

Am I right?

examples:

Elven Fighter (Elf 0, Fight 2, HD 2 (d8)) cost 4, equal to fighter with base elf abilities and level limit 13, cost for 2nd level 2125

Elven Wizard (Elf 0, Wizard 4), cost 4, equal to wizard with base elf abilities and level limit 13, cost for 2nd level 2625

Dwarf Fighter (Dwarf 0, fight 2, hd 2 (d8)) cost 4, equal to fighter with base dwarf abilities and level limit 13, cost for 2nd level 2200

and so on

Yup. The max level decreases by 1 and the XP cost increases slightly, but there’s no reason you can’t do this; the dwarven vaultguard is already very similar to a human fighter.

It does change one of the things ACKS does well, though, which is make every race feel different, both from humans and from each other. If every race has access to identical classes (or nearly so), it dilutes the uniqueness. By default, ACKS generally limits what each race can do, and in the cases where they have very similar classes, you can make different tradeoffs and give them different powers to maintain a different feel (as in the case of the vaultguard vs fighter).

thanks, just wanted to be sure
