Mage Alternative for D@W

I hope this is public, can't seem to find it directly on Youtube:

An entertaining alternative for when you don't have a mage handy.

It does seem to be public, but can I get a summary? No Flash on my machines (and I’d prefer to keep it that way :P).

That general is clearly a PC.  Not only is he using non-historical siege engines, he had a plan to farm the kills for personal XP.  :)

Sure.

It's an Indian film, this one, I think:

Anywhoo, there's two armies facing off across the desert. One is obviously the Lawful army, the second is Chaotic, gots lots of berserker types, it seems.

Lawful army forms up a pretty bad-ass triangular shield wall, spends some time working up a bunch of different siege engines. Chaotic army charges it's berserkers.

One is a medieval MLRS, a cube with holes holding spears is slapped in the rear by a catapult-style mechanism to send the whole mess of spears shooting out. Berserkers are kabob'd.

The second, and the scene I'm referring to, is a catapult that shoots large stone balls with handles embedded inside.

The first shots of those fly out towards the charging berserkers, they hit land and start rolling, and the berserkers hop over them, mid stride. Made their save.

The Chaotic general smirks and literally twirls his mustache at that.

Lawful general, still nonplussed, orders a reload. Two catapults next to each other are loaded with the balls. A very large red tarp/fabric is hooked at two corners to the balls, and the catapults are launched.

The balls drag the fabric up and out, and it lands and settles over a mass of the berserkers, who get tangled up under it. One in the middle cuts his way out, stands up in this sea of red fabric. He touches the fabric, then his nose - it smells odd.

Lawful leader holds his hand out, recieves fancy bow. Lights and fires a flaming arrow at the sheet.

WOOOOMPH - the fuel-soaked sheet goes up in flame, a hundred berserkers underneath.

The cut ends with multitudes of these sheets being launched, and lit in mid-air by other archers, and then the berserkers hit the shield wall.

[/quote] Sounds like a springal or falarica. The Romans, being ever so pleasant people, would wrap tow-soaked rags around their spears and light them on fire before launching them.

I wonder how viable the "Siege-Scale Ether-Soaked-Rag" is from an engineering perspective.
