Subtle Demographics Question(s)

So I was looking over the demographics assumptions, thinking about them, and I had a question or two...

1 in 12 people are 1st level, and once you factor in all of the higher level characters, it looks like you get approximately 1 in 8 people with class levels.  In a city with, say, 8,000 families, do you end up with 1000 people with class levels (the head of the household counts) or 2000 people with class levels (all able bodied adults count, so 2 per family) or 5000 people with class levels (everybody counts)?

Further, it looks like (following the starting cities demographic assumptions) that about 1/9 of the classed characters are arcane casters, so in a city of 8000 families, does this mean about 111 arcane casters.  Sound about right?

Do these demographics extend to the peasants, as well, or mostly apply to the cities?  For a typical city of 8,000 families, which controls a typical realm, the realm will have 400,000 families.  These would therefore have 50,000 classed characters, and 5555 mages.

Following the thieves guild style demographics, about 3555 of them would be 1st level, leaving 2000 for higher levels.1280 at level 2, 460 at level 3, and 260 mages of higher level roaming around the domain.

Have I reasonably extrapolated the demographic/setting assumptions here, or have I fallen off the caravan somewhere?

Where do you get the figure of 1 in 12 people being first level? The table on page 235 says 1 in 20. Am I looking at the wrong table?

Huh. Now I feel like a crazy person… what was I looking at…?

Hrmmm, I guess I was looking at this: http://www.autarch.co/blog/demographics-heroism

(I acknowledge it’s different. Somehow I totally missed that. Thanks! )

The interesting thing about the differences between the tables is that according to the tables in the book  1/12 people are at least 1st level, this could account for the differences in demographics
