Forcing Open Doors and Not Rolling Multiple Times

Based off of the blog post at http://initiativeone.blogspot.com/2013/08/bashing-doors-open-and-other-play-notes.html, and the ensuing comments, I devised the following house rule for forcing open doors:

I like the idea that a “failed” roll results in the door still opening, but with consequences. This way you avoid bogging the game down with strings of unsuccessful rolls. I could see modifying a result of 1 to mean that the door will not budge and must be battered down or dealt with in some other manner.

Are there rules consequences that I’m not considering by using such a system?

Another option would be to only allow the strongest or most able to attempt it. If that character cant bash the door in, nobody can…
The group have to find other options or return some other day.
